I say, "But I am not going to take that."

我说：「可我不会拿的。」

He say, "Why not? You are in difficulty, you don't have money."

他说：「为什么不拿？你有困难，你没有钱。」

I say, "Well, that is fine. But this kind of money I am not going to have."

我说：「嗯，那没关系。但这种钱我不会要。」

"You don't want me to go to mountain?"

「你不想让我上山？」

I say, "Yes, you go."

我说：「想，你去吧。」

"But I want to give away everything."

「但我想把一切都送掉。」

I said, "Do one thing, sell out everything, give out everything. Cash it, put it in the bank, go away. If tomorrow you need help, you don't locate me where I am, you don't locate anybody, come back to the bank, write a check and get the money and start the life again. Now, you want to experiment. Now you are bent upon it. I am not going to stop you but I can advise you I am your teacher, I am not a cheat. I am telling you, do what I want to ask you and obey me. Listen to me."

我说：「做一件事，把一切都卖掉，把一切都给出去。变现，存进银行，然后走开。如果明天你需要帮助，你别来找我在哪儿，你别找任何人，回到银行，写张支票，取出钱，重新开始生活。现在，你想去试验。现在你铁了心要做。我不会拦你，但我可以劝你——我是你的老师，我不是骗子。我告诉你，照我要你做的去做，听我的话。听我说。」

He said, "That kind of arrangement is not necessary."

他说：「那种安排没必要。」

I said, "No, it is not necessary, it is essential. It is very, very essential. You are a young girl, you are going to have a faith on someone. There is ninety nine percent possibility that you may be all right in your faith. There is one percent possibility it may not come up as you expect it to be. Then, what will happen, then?"

我说：「不，不是没必要，是必不可少。是非常、非常必不可少。你是个年轻女孩，你总要去信某个人。有百分之九十九的可能，你的信任没问题。有百分之一的可能，事情不会像你期望的那样发展。那到时候会怎样，到时候呢？」

She say, "Then I will think what I can do."

她说：「那到时候我再想我能怎么办。」

I said, "Why to think? This is your hard earned money, it is your media."

我说：「想什么？这是你辛苦挣来的钱，它是你的媒介。」

Five days she tried, she say, "I will give it to somebody else."

她试了五天，她说：「我把它给别人吧。」

I said, "No. I will never talk to you if you will do it. Keep it on yourself. Practice what you want to practice. See what is going to happen to you and when you want to come back, fine. If I will be here in Los Angeles, you are again my student. Work with me, improve. Whatever thought has come to you is you are so devoted to this thought that I don't want to come in-between you and your thought, practice. Because you see everything very clear. According to you, God bless you, go ahead."

我说：「不行。你要是这么做，我就再也不跟你说话了。把它留在你自己身上。你想练什么就练什么。看看你会发生什么，等你想回来的时候，好。如果那时我在洛杉矶，你还是我的学生。跟我一起做，去提升。你升起的那个念头，是你对那个念头如此虔诚，我不想夹在你和你的念头之间，去练吧。因为你看一切都看得很清楚。照你说的，神保佑你，去吧。」

Why there should be a hang-up? There should be a hang-up because if there is no hang up in our personality we will never be miserable.

为什么要有挂碍？应该有挂碍，因为如果我们的性格里没有挂碍，我们就永远不会痛苦。

Now, I have got one of my student, I will never name him. You talk to him half-an-hour, thirty minutes by your watch. You will start him in thirty minutes he will complain twenty minutes I have no money, I am poor, I do not know what for I am living and he is a very well-to-do fellow. All the time he wants money. One day I got fed up and I said, "I tell you why you want money, because you have got all the friends who are very rich. You have no poor man as a friend and that is your hang up. You want to be rich and you are so miserable now your nerves are giving away." Misery has overtaken him as a disease.

现在，我有一个学生，我永远不会点他的名。你跟他谈半个小时，照你的表三十分钟。你一开始跟他谈三十分钟，他会抱怨二十分钟——我没钱，我穷，我不知道我活着是为了什么——而他却是个非常有钱的人。他时时刻刻都想要钱。有一天我受够了，我说：「我告诉你你为什么想要钱，因为你所有的朋友都非常有钱。你没有一个穷人做朋友，那就是你的挂碍。你想变富，而你现在痛苦到你的神经都快撑不住了。」痛苦已经像一种病一样缠上了他。

You see, we sometime do not understand who we are. We compare ourself to some people who are great, to us they look great. Six bedroom house one has got, everything. God knows the fellow has got money in the bank to pay the tax for that house or not or still the installments are on that house or not but we see that six bedroom house and we become mad. My house is two bedroom, this house is six bedroom and there the hang-up starts. Block. So our happiness goes away when we have any block in our personality. That is attachment.

你看，我们有时不明白自己是谁。我们拿自己去跟某些人比，那些人在我们眼里很了不起。有人有一栋六居室的房子，什么都有。天知道那家伙银行里的钱够不够付那房子的税，或者那房子还在不在还分期，可我们一看到那栋六居室的房子，就疯了。我的房子是两居室，那栋是六居室，于是卡住就开始了。堵住了。所以，只要我们的人格里有任何堵塞，我们的快乐就没了。那就是执迷。

I have seen mothers with a great attachment. They suffer very much. Their children are their hang-ups. First they pray to God, we must have a child. When child comes they do not know how to bring him up. They don't tell him a word. Let him grow. You know body and child can be molded to anyway you like and when you don't mold the body or don't mold the child, later on that becomes an offer to you. Now, that is Shastra, that is not I am talking. So they don't mould anything. Later on that thing becomes their own hang-up. Now, mother cannot leave the child. Mother cannot have the child because that is a nuisance. But that is a self-created nuisance. Every hang-up is your self- created thing and remember every hang-up will eat you up.

我见过一些母亲，执迷极深。她们受很多苦。孩子就是她们的挂碍。起初她们向神祈祷，我们得有个孩子。孩子来了，她们又不知道怎么把他养大。她们一个字也不跟他说。让他自己长吧。你知道，身体和孩子是可以随你心意去塑造的，而当你不去塑造身体、不去塑造孩子，日后那东西就成了套在你脖子上的绳索。这就是 Shastra 说的，不是我说的。她们什么都不塑造。后来那东西就成了她们自己的挂碍。母亲离不开孩子。母亲又不能要这孩子，因为那是个麻烦。可那是自己造出来的麻烦。每一个挂碍都是你自己造出来的东西，记住，每一个挂碍都会把你吃掉。

Man can never die without a hang-up. That is why we say let us identify ourself with Sat Nam. Let us understand everything is truth. Let us merge our personality into the truth so that we may be clean and clear of the hang-up. Otherwise, I am not a fool to say Sat Nam, Sat Nam, Sat Nam. I ran into a very Sikh big gathering. I said, "Well, do you believe Guru Nanak is your Guru?"

人没有挂碍是活不下去的。所以我们才说，让我们把自己认同于 Sat Nam。让我们明白一切都是真理。让我们把自己的人格融入真理，这样我们才能干净、清明，没有挂碍。否则，我可不是个傻子，整天念 Sat Nam、Sat Nam、Sat Nam。我闯进过一个很大的锡克教集会。我说：「那么，你们相信 Guru Nanak 是你们的古茹吗？」

They say, "Yeah."

他们说：「是啊。」

"He is a founder of Sikhism?"

「他是锡克教的创始人？」

"Yes."

「是的。」

I say, "You honestly believe this?"

我说：「你们真的相信这个？」

He said, "What are you talking? Yogi, are you crazy?"

他说：「你在说什么？瑜伽士，你疯了吗？」

I say, "No, no, I am just certifying this fact, this is right Guru Nanak is your Guru?"

我说：「不，不，我只是在确认这个事实，Guru Nanak 是你们的古茹，对吧？」

They say, "Yeah."

他们说：「是啊。」

"He is a founder of your religion?"

「他是你们宗教的创始人？」

"They say, "Yes."

他们说：「是的。」

I say, "Which mantra he chanted?"

我说：「他念的是哪个曼陀罗？」

Can you believe it? In the entire gathering there were only two people who could answer it and I didn't stop there. I said, "Could you tell me why Guru Nanak chanted Sat Nam?" You will be shocked to know you may be aware of this thing, they never knew it. Born in a Sikh family, brought up by a Sikh family, read in a Sikh school, and thousands of them, more than a hundred thousand people. More than a lakh people is more than a hundred thousand people. Two could only answer me that Guru Nanak used to chant this and none could answer me, why? This type of spiritual teachings are available to us.

你能相信吗？在整场聚会里，只有两个人能回答这个问题，而我没有就此停下。我说：「你能告诉我，Guru Nanak 为什么唱诵 Sat Nam 吗？」你会震惊地发现，这件事你也许知道，他们却从来不知道。生在锡克家庭，被锡克家庭养大，在锡克学校读书，成千上万的人，超过十万的人。超过一个 lakh 的人就是超过十万的人。只有两个人能回答我，Guru Nanak 过去常唱诵这个，却没有一个人能回答我，为什么？这类灵性教导，我们是可以得到的。

I was telling Darshan this morning, why we chant Sat Nam. Sat Nam is a word with two words. One is Sat, other is Nam. Nam is the identity. Sat means truth. Nam means name, correctly, literally. Name, name is a noun. Noun is the name of person, place, or a thing. It is a identity. Sat means truth. We chant Sat Nam because we identify ourself with that truth which is the cause of every cause and why we want identity? If you have got a valid identity card certifying your personality you can do anything you like. If anybody in United States of America has got identity card certifying by the President of America, Mr. Nixon that 'this person is permitted to enter anywhere under all circumstances, no barriers.' Can you, my dear, tell me, is there anybody in United States who will stop that person when he will produce that identity card? No. No, nobody can do it. President authority is final. So, one who will identify with Him, who has created this entire universe and will earn that identity. Will these power, these president and these states can stop that man? Logic. It is simple reason and logic.

今天早上我跟 Darshan 说，我们为什么唱诵 Sat Nam。Sat Nam 是一个词，由两个词组成。一个是 Sat，另一个是 Nam。Nam 是身份。Sat 的意思是真理。Nam 的意思是名字，准确地说，字面上就是名字。名字，名字是一个名词。名词是人、地点或事物的名称。它是一种身份。Sat 的意思是真理。我们唱诵 Sat Nam，是因为我们把自己认同于那个真理，它是一切因之因，而我们为什么想要身份？如果你有一张有效的身份证，证明你的人格，你就可以做任何你想做的事。如果在美国有任何人有一张由美国总统尼克松先生认证的身份证，上面写着「此人被允许在任何情况下进入任何地方，没有障碍。」亲爱的，你能告诉我，在美国有谁会在这个人出示那张身份证时拦住他吗？没有。不，没有人能做到。总统的权威是最终的。所以，一个认同于祂的人，认同于创造整个宇宙的那一位，并赢得那个身份。这些权力、这些总统和这些州能拦住那个人吗？逻辑。这是简单的道理和逻辑。

Let us not be fanatics. Let us not do it just because elders have done it. The greatest setback in every religion is that what the elders have been doing they never explain to the youngsters why they are doing. They want, we are doing you should do. They say, forget it. Some follow, some don't. They don't train them that we are doing this, you should do like that.

我们不要做狂热分子。我们不要只因为长辈做过就去做。每一种宗教里最大的挫败就是，长辈一直在做的事，他们从不向年轻人解释为什么做。他们想要——我们在做，你就该做。他们说，别管了。有些人跟随，有些人不跟随。他们不训练他们：我们在做这个，你应该这样做。

Everybody said touch the feet of the master, at the lotus feet of the master. It took me two years to understand why everybody is mad at the lotus feet of the master. What is special with the master that his feet must be touched, not his cheeks, why not to pull the cheeks of the master? I studied and studied and studied and talked and researched with people, why? Then later on I understood it is very simple. All the life nerves of the magnet of the body they end into the foot and all the power of the teacher lies in his foot, nowhere else.

每个人都说过要触碰古茹的脚，在古茹的莲花足前。我花了两年才明白，为什么人人都对古茹的莲花足那么痴迷。古茹有什么特别之处，非得碰他的脚，而不是碰他的脸颊，为什么不去捏古茹的脸颊呢？我研究了又研究，研究了又研究，跟人交谈、查证，为什么？后来我明白了，这非常简单。身体这块磁铁的所有生命神经都终结在脚上，老师的全部力量都在他的脚里，不在别处。

It is not humility you touch the foot of the master. Moment you touch the foot of the master you get the Pranas out of him. It is, he is the giver, he is the loser, you are not. But to touch his foot you have to bow and when you bow to somebody he is not going to curse you. He say, "God bless you". His mental power is also projective blessing and you with the touch also get something, which you otherwise cannot get. That is why they touch the feet of the master otherwise, they are not special. They are not of gold, and another foot of silver. After all a sage, whom million people bow, he said at the lotus feet of my master, why? Why they are lotus to him? Because they give him. They do not take anything from him. They give him everything. Whatever you possess that is only with you so long your this energy, life force through breath or through anyway. It runs in you. Moment this life force goes, you go. So to identify with the life force what the master feet do, they also give the life force. I have run into that trouble.

你触碰古茹的脚，并不是出于谦卑。你一触碰古茹的脚，就从他那里得到了普拉纳（Prana）。他是给予者，他是失去的一方，你不是。但要碰他的脚，你就得鞠躬，而当你向某人鞠躬时，他不会诅咒你。他说：「神保佑你。」他的心智力量也是一种投射性的祝福，而你通过触碰也得到了某种东西，那是你本来得不到的。这就是为什么人们触碰古茹的脚，否则，他们并不特别。他们不是金脚，另一只脚是银的。毕竟一位圣人，百万人向他鞠躬，他说在我古茹的莲花足前，为什么？为什么对他来说是莲花？因为它们给予他。它们不从他那里拿走任何东西。它们把一切都给了他。你所拥有的一切，只在你这股能量、这股生命力通过呼吸或任何方式在你体内流动时，才与你同在。这股生命力一走，你就走了。所以要与生命力认同，古茹的脚所做的，就是它们也给予生命力。我就遇到过这个麻烦。

Many saints and sages they won't let you touch their feet. You know, how clever they are? They say, "No, no, don't worship us. No, no, no, we don't want it." They are very clever. They are the biggest cheats. They don't want to share their power with you at all. That is why they don't allow you to do it. Don't think that they are very humble and they don't want their pooja. This is all rotten things. That is what they tell you.

许多圣人和行者不让你碰他们的脚。你知道他们有多聪明吗？他们说：「不，不，不要崇拜我们。不，不，不，我们不要这个。」他们非常聪明。他们是最大的骗子。他们根本不想与你分享他们的力量。这就是为什么他们不允许你这么做。别以为他们非常谦卑，不想要他们的普佳（pooja）。这都是些烂东西。他们就是这么告诉你的。

Student: (---).

学生：（——）。

YB: Yeah, people never wanted to die also.

YB：是啊，人们也从来不想死。

I had a problem with him. I actually ran to him. Ohsu knows the conversation we had. We had a very heart to heart talk. I went to him and he was sitting in the sun without a bush shirt and I told him, I said, "Now each square inch of this body is becoming a window. For heaven's sake now leave this body."

我跟他有过一番纠葛。我真的跑去找他。Ohsu 知道我们那次谈话。我们进行了一次非常推心置腹的交谈。我去找他，他坐在太阳底下，没穿丛林衬衫，我告诉他，我说：「现在这身体的每一平方英寸都在变成一扇窗户。看在老天爷的份上，现在离开这个身体吧。」

He said, "Do you promise to take the responsibility?"

他说：「你保证承担这个责任吗？」

I said, "Well, I have changed it twice and you are not in a position to change it once. What a hang-up it is? Leave it for God sake. We will do whatever we have to do. We will tell (?) the God has given you the breath of life. Don't worry."

我说：「唉，我已经改了两次，而你连一次都改不了。这算什么样的执念？看在神的份上放下吧。该做什么我们就做什么。我们会告诉（？）神已经给了你生命的气息。别担心。」

And then he bugged Ohsu like anything and she cried in the car. She said, "Why you have brought me here?"

然后他像什么似的缠着 Ohsu，她在车里哭了。她说：「你为什么把我带到这里来？」

I said, "This was your last chance to see him. That is why I wanted to come and see him and talk to him. He has understood he is going to go. He will never like to come, talk to you."

我说：「这是你见他的最后机会。所以我才想来见他，跟他谈谈。他已经明白自己就要走了。他再也不会愿意来跟你说话了。」

His life was fine as the life of a very pure man but he had a one hang-up. He was cheated once. In a film, they promised him something and then they stole his role and they did all that thing. He wanted that money to help the Indians whom he had promised and that became his hang-up and he was not willing to leave the body without proving that situation to him and I had to discuss with him five times that it is not necessary. "Money didn't come to you, not because of your folly because they cheated you and they have suffered, nobody knows them. They have been washed off with that money. Why, you are trying to do all this to yourself." It was about fifth time that he understood that what I am talking to him is right. He could have been (?).

他的一生很好，像一个非常纯净的人的一生，但他有一个执念。他被人骗过一次。在一部电影里，他们向他承诺了一些东西，然后偷走了他的角色，干了那一堆事。他想用那笔钱去帮助他承诺过的那些印度人，这就成了他的执念，他不愿意在没把这件事向他证明清楚之前离开身体，我不得不跟他谈了五次，说这没有必要。「钱没到你手里，不是因为你愚蠢，是因为他们骗了你，而他们已经受了苦，没人认识他们。他们带着那笔钱被冲刷掉了。你为什么还要这样对自己。」大概是第五次，他才明白我跟他说的是对的。他本来可以（？）。

YB: Oh, there was some film star. You know film stars are film stars. Oh, they promised him that they will take this whole thing from him. Something he wrote for the film and they made that film and they did everything but they didn't pay him a penny and when he was feeling that whole thing, he promised those people those Indian whom we had been helping whole life that whatever that money will come, he'll give. That man made six pictures here in Hollywood. They didn't pay Peter a penny and then he died in a car accident and because his cases were not cleared, not a single cent went out of America. He came from Europe.

YB：哦，是某个电影明星。你知道电影明星就是电影明星。哦，他们向他承诺，会把这一整套东西从他那里拿走。他为那部电影写了些东西，他们拍了那部电影，什么都做了，却一分钱也没给他，而当他感受着这一切的时候，他向他承诺过那些我们一辈子都在帮助的印度人，说那笔钱不管什么时候到，他都会给出去。那个人在好莱坞这里拍了六部片子。他们一分钱都没付给 Peter，然后他死于一场车祸，因为他的案子没有结清，一分钱都没能出美国。他从欧洲来。

Peter told me the whole story and I told him it is no fault with you. But you know, he was very hard master. Have you met him? Oh, forget it. I have never seen a woman going to him and not weeping and crying and yelling or merrily he used to yell so much that he will take away all your pranas and if you are really Besharm, we call him shameless and you have absolutely no ego. You can afford to sit in his room and only then he will talk to you further. First of all he is going to tell you breathe. You do not know how to breathe. My God, he will start killing you. He will call you so many names that you know Americans cannot understand that. They will run away. With the grace of God, I was one exception on whom he has never judged. Otherwise, it was his habit, I can tell you, it was his habit. There is no problem because he will say breathe. Moment somebody will breathe here, for Peter it is okay. You Johnny, met Peter?

Peter 把整件事都告诉我了，我跟他说这不能怪你。但你知道，他是个非常严厉的老师。你见过他吗？唉，别提了。我从没见过哪个女人去找他，不是哭着、喊着、嚎着，就是欢天喜地——他吼得那么凶，能把你的普拉纳（Prana）全吼走。如果你真的 Besharm，我们叫他不要脸，你完全没有小我，你才坐得住他的房间，只有这样他才会继续跟你说话。首先他会告诉你呼吸。你根本不懂怎么呼吸。我的天，他会开始把你往死里整。他会给你起一堆名字，你知道美国人受不了那个。他们会跑掉。承蒙神的恩典，我是唯一的例外，他从来没评判过我。不然的话，那是他的习惯，我告诉你，那是他的习惯。这没问题，因为他说呼吸。有人在这儿一呼吸，对 Peter 来说就没问题。你，Johnny，见过 Peter 吗？

Johnny: Yeah...

Johnny：见过……

YB: And when it becomes red, you know, did you see his face? Like this.

YB：当它变红的时候，你知道，你见过他的脸吗？像这样。

YB: He was a very, very...

YB：他是个非常、非常……

YB: He was a very spiritual man. A perfect saint, a perfect saint. Among American hardly I have met such a spiritual man. At least I may meet somebody but I never met anybody like that. We do not know. We know him, Peter the hermit. He used to walk in Hollywood. All over people know him. Good soul. You know when he died he never had any money? And when it came to, in the press that he has died, so much money came for his funeral, God knows who were the people who sent check after check, check after check. The best funeral we had in Los Angeles was Peter's. We were in East-West Cultural Center those days. I was in Palm Springs and Jessy said, "Master, we are not going to go, we'll stay tonight."

YB：他是个非常有灵性的人。一个完美的圣人，一个完美的圣人。在美国人里，我几乎没遇到过这样有灵性的人。至少我可能会遇到某个人，但我从没遇到过像他那样的。我们不知道。我们认识他，隐士 Peter。他以前在好莱坞走动。到处的人都认识他。好灵魂。你知道他死的时候一分钱都没有吗？当消息传出来，报纸上说他死了，那么多钱涌来给他办葬礼，天知道是谁一张接一张地寄支票，一张接一张。我们在洛杉矶办过的最好的葬礼就是 Peter 的。那些日子我们在东西方文化中心。我当时在棕榈泉，Jessy 说：「师父，我们不去了，今晚就待在这儿。」

I said, "Could you just change your clothes and drive your car fast? We are needed in Los Angeles."

我说：「你能不能换身衣服，把车开快点？洛杉矶需要我们。」

I didn't tell him and when Wallace rang up, I said (?), "Jessy shall we go back to Palm Springs?"

我没告诉他，等 Wallace 打来电话，我说（？），「Jessy，我们回棕榈泉吧？」

He said, "No."

他说：「不。」

We went there at 11 o'clock, hospital they didn't let us come in. They didn't let us see him and I really bugged those authorities, I say, "You have got no distinction. You treat everybody alike," and then you know they balm him what they call, whatever they call.

我们 11 点到了那儿，医院不让我们进去。他们不让我们见他，我真的把那些当官的烦透了，我说：「你们毫无分别心。你们对谁都一视同仁。」然后你知道他们给他涂油，他们叫的那个，不管他们叫什么。

Student: (---).

YB: Yeah.

YB：对。

Student: (---).

学生：（---）。

YB: No, the landlady knew it. Even we knew it at Palm Spring (?).

YB：不，女房东知道。连我们在棕榈泉（？）都知道。

Student: (---).

学生：（---）。

YB: No, we would have come at eight o'clock and would discussed at it. That was not difficult.

YB：不，我们本来 8 点就会到，就会讨论这件事了。那不难。

Student: (---).

学生：（---）。

YB: Oh, you see this (?) and all these they do it, just a person sometime look very horrible just to make him okay.

YB：哦，你看到这个（？），所有这些他们都做，只是一个人有时候看起来非常可怕，只是为了让他好起来。

Student: (---).

学生：（---）。

YB: No, no but what Karmas people have got I have seen one man dying like this. His eyes were out, his mouth was, (?) like that. What to do? You think you remember death when you are living in Los Angeles?

YB：不，不，但人们有什么样的业力，我见过一个人这样死去。他的眼睛凸出来，他的嘴，像那样（？）。能怎么办？你以为你住在洛杉矶的时候会记得死亡吗？

How many people remember what miserable they look when they die? I think we should make a photo and send them to heavens and see when you died you looked so horrible. That is what I say. Those two-and-half hour of death are so miserable, unbelievable, you won't believe me what happens to a man in those two-and-half hour.

有多少人记得他们死的时候看起来有多惨？我觉得我们应该拍张照片寄到天堂去，看看你死的时候看起来多可怕。这就是我说的。那 2 个半小时的死亡是如此悲惨，难以置信，你不会相信我，一个人在那 2 个半小时里会经历什么。

Reviewing? He is in a (?). He has shown all his karma. All his nonsense and very clear. He is given a balance sheet immediately there and then told soul is told in which way she has to travel and Ji, forget it.

在回顾？他在一个（？）里。他把自己所有的业力都展示出来了。他所有的胡闹，非常清楚。他当场就拿到了一份资产负债表，然后灵魂被告知她要以哪种方式旅行，Ji，别管了。

I went through once this process. I went to see Bhagvati temple, Vaishnodevi. Now, I tell you my own story what happened. My wife and I were standing outside and I was getting ready to go to office and she asked me, all these people are going to Mata. Mata we call it Mother. Vaishnodevi temple, we worship it very much and she said, "Jee, Why can't we go?"

I said, "This is last time you go, otherwise, you will be the whole life crying and jumping with me for nothing. I am telling you this time she is not going to survive."

我说：「这是最后一次你去，否则，你会一辈子哭着跳着跟我白折腾。我告诉你，这一次她活不下来。」

She say, "Only (?) if you can come, children on holiday you can see me."

她说：「只有（？）如果你能来，孩子们放假你能来看我。」

I said, "She is going to go. Don't become fussy. Well, all right choice is yours. If you are going to go by 1 o'clock, train tickets are ready. Orderly will come. The office car will come. You go because I cannot come from office. I will meet you at station. If you are not going then we will see within this week. Children have got holiday we can go there."

我说：「她要走了。别瞎折腾。好吧，选择权在你。如果你 1 点前走，火车票已经准备好了。勤务兵会来。办公室的车会来。你去吧，因为我从办公室来不了。我在车站跟你碰头。如果你不去，那我们这周内再看。孩子们放假了，我们可以去那里。」

I do not know what happened to her, she rang me up office, she say, "I am going to go."

我不知道她怎么了，她打电话到我办公室，她说：「我要去。」

I said, "Good for you. So, I came at the station. 1:35 the train left. I wished them goodbye. So I told her, I say, "Whenever the condition goes bad you write me."

我说：「对你好。所以，我到了车站。1:35 火车开了。我跟他们道别。所以我告诉她，我说：「什么时候情况变糟了，你写信给我。」

She said, "Is she going to die?"

她说：「她会死吗？」

I said, "No." I say, "She is not going to die but I don't want but you will not be given a long chance so I don't want that woman to just suffer a little bit on your behalf because she loves you too much. She is not going to die. That is why I came at the station to tell you."

我说：「不。」我说：「她不会死，但我不想——不过你不会得到很长的机会，所以我不想让那个女人替你受一点点苦，因为她太爱你了。她不会死。这就是我为什么到车站来告诉你。」

She say, "Why you are telling me?"

她说：「你为什么告诉我？」

I said, "I didn't say, this time she is going to die. I told you she is going to die, right?"

我说：「我没说这次她会死。我告诉过你她会死，对吧？」

So the train left and she went and stayed with the mother. The mother was very happy and she survived but we knew the time is going to come. So, those neighbors called me next evening, they say, "Well, we are going to go, are you going to guard our houses? You are the only one who is going to live here."

于是火车开走了，她去了，和母亲住在一起。母亲非常高兴，她活了下来，但我们知道那个时刻终会到来。所以，第二天傍晚那些邻居打电话给我，他们说：「我们要走了，你会替我们看房子吗？你是唯一一个还会住在这里的人。」

I said, "But you are going to go to your mother because you are rich people and I am a very poor man. If she is my mother too, she will call me and I am not going to spend a penny to go to the mother. So, I will do this, 'Chowkidari.' You know, watchman job for your houses."

我说：「可你们要去你们母亲那里，因为你们是有钱人，而我是个很穷的人。如果她也是我的母亲，她会叫我的，而我不会花一分钱去看母亲。所以，我会做这个，『Chowkidari』。你知道，替你们看房子的守夜活儿。」

We had officers' bungalows, you know, one after the other. It was a special colony for us. So they all left. I will go to the work. Now, all the officers leave, you know, with one who is there in the office, he has to take whole work on his head. This is terrible job otherwise. So, I was overworked and my officer in charge there, he came one day morning. He said, "You come on with me to office."

我们有军官的平房，你知道，一栋挨着一栋。那是专为我们设的居住区。于是他们都走了。我去上班。现在，所有军官都走了，你知道，留在办公室的那个人，得把全部工作扛在自己头上。不然这活儿很可怕。所以，我超负荷工作，我那里的主管军官，有一天早上来了。他说：「你跟我去办公室。」

I say, "Well, I will come."

我说：「好，我来。」

After twenty minutes his orderly came running. "Sir, sir, come on. He wants you immediately."

二十分钟后，他的勤务兵跑来了。「先生，先生，快来。他要你马上去。」

I said, "But what is wrong? Already, I am going."

我说：「可怎么了？我已经在去了。」

He said, "Why?"

他说：「为什么？」

I said, "My vehicle is not starting, I am going with him to office."

我说：「我的车发动不起来，我正要跟他去办公室。」

He said, "No, no. There is another program."

他说：「不，不。有另一个安排。」

I said, "What program?"

我说：「什么安排？」

So, he said, "Well Bhajan, these are my friends from Assam." That is a very east, far east, north-east state where China attacked India last time and he is the deputy commissioner of that area, so he wants to go to Vaishnodevi and I have got no such spiritual friend whom I can trust, either I go or you go. Choice is yours. I said, "Well, I will go. Why do you go?"

于是，他说：「Bhajan，这些是我从阿萨姆来的朋友。」那是个很东边、最东边、东北的邦，上次中国就是从那里攻打印度，他是那个地区的副专员，所以他想去Vaishnodevi，而我没有可以信任的这样的灵性朋友，要么我去，要么你去。选择在你。我说：「好，我去。你为什么要去？」

He said, "But then don't go back, sit down and you must go with us there is no choice."

So from there we went to (?) that is a place where a pundit, a wise man, astrologer lives. So, I had a appointment with him. So, I on the way talked to them, I said, "If you can go thirty miles beyond Pathankot we have got a (?) person and we can see him and I know him also he is in my jurisdiction." You know, who doesn't want to know about his fate? He said, "Sure!" So we drove off to him and that man was a fantastic man. He really was a man of virtues and merits. He told them certain things and they were very delighted and they said, "Well, he brought us here, you tell him also." And he told me certain things in their presence too.

于是我们从那里去了（？），那是一个学者、智者、占星家住的地方。我跟他约好了见面。路上我跟他们说：「你们要是能再往帕坦科特（Pathankot）外开三十英里，我们有个（？）人，可以去见他，我也认识他，他在我的管辖范围内。」你知道，谁不想知道自己的命运呢？他说：「当然好！」于是我们开车去找他，那个人真是个了不起的人。他确实是个有德行、有功德的人。他跟他们讲了一些事，他们非常高兴，说：「是他把我们带到这儿来的，你也给他讲讲吧。」他当着他们的面也跟我讲了一些事。

Anyway, we drove from there. We came to Jammu. From Jammu we came to Katrah. It was four p.m. One man out of them said, "Well I cannot go to that height." It is a terrible height, it is just like this, you have to go like this all the way. He said, "Yeah, I'll sit here." So myself and he, we started. You won't believe me how terrible it was but like really people now are to die and die now or never, we started (?). 11 o'clock night we reached there, at 11 o'clock night I was at exact Mata's gate. Fool as I was, I am a big yogi but look at my foolishness when time strikes. I just took that water and you know water in the mountain how cold it is. That's all. One drop, one mouthful of water went in and my heart started sinking and I knew the time has come. Now, I cannot revive. And I knew my foolishness also. I told him I said, "(?) Sat Siri Akal."

You know when he listened like that, he just held me and I was getting cold and I saw myself going deep and deep and deep but very peaceful, very peaceful. I said two words. At that last I still remember. I said, "Mata, body one day I have to leave but if I leave this body at your house I am born in a ruling family. None, in that area will visit you ever. Remember this thing. I don't care. I am to die here or anywhere but if visiting you I am supposed to leave body, mum, you are not going to be worshipped in our family and you are going to leave many thousand disciples. Choice is yours."

According to the doctors I revived after fifteen minutes. I lost my pulse, they said pulse came back after twenty minutes. That is why after exercises I say don't take glass of water or water for one hour. I mean you may be thinking I am joking. We are very powerful people. We practice Kundalini yoga but if we commit foolishness we also pay for it very heavy. That's why I keep on talking, make you stay and then I let you go. So, I revived. When I got up I found on me about nothing less than fifty blankets and people rubbing my feet and blah, blah, blah and everything went well. Thank God for that stroke.

按医生的说法，我是在十五分钟后才缓过来的。我没了脉搏，他们说是二十分钟后脉搏才回来。所以练完功我总说，别喝那杯水，一个小时内别喝水。我的意思是，你可能以为我在开玩笑。我们是非常有力量的人。我们练昆达里尼瑜伽，可要是干了蠢事，也得付出很重的代价。所以我才一直讲、一直讲，让你们待着，然后才放你们走。就这样，我缓过来了。等我起身，发现身上盖着不下五十条毯子，还有人给我搓脚，如此等等，一切都好起来了。感谢神，多亏了那次中风。

You know three days passed people were sitting to go into that Gufa. It is it, it is a something in stones, very hard to go. A elephant also can pass, a thin man can pass also. But me it is a miracle, to go into those two stones. It is really strange thing. How we entered I do not know myself. He was very fat. He also passed and I was very slender. I also passed but how one passes. So, that theory is correct. If a head can pass man can pass. But somehow he rolled into and we went into that cave and saw that little temple and I worshiped there and I came back.

你知道，三天过去了，人们都坐着，准备进那个Gufa。就是它，它是石头里的一个东西，很难进去。大象能过，瘦子也能过。可对我来说，能穿过那两块石头就是个奇迹。真是件怪事。我们怎么进去的，我自己都不知道。他很胖。他也过去了，我很瘦。我也过去了，可人是怎么过去的呢。所以那个说法是对的。头能过去，人就能过去。但不知怎么的，他滚了进去，我们就进了那个山洞，看见了那座小庙，我在那里做了礼拜，然后就回来了。

When we were coming back we were talking and he said, "How you feel?"

我们往回走的时候，一边走一边聊，他说：「你感觉怎么样？」

I say, "I feel great, man. I have no Karmas on my list for which I am suffering. I am not sorry for that whole incidence."

我说：「我感觉好极了，老兄。我的清单上没有让我受苦的业力。整件事我一点都不后悔。」

He said, "Why?"

他说：「为什么？」

I say, "I was very calm and I was very (?)."

我说：「我很平静，我很（？）。」

He said, "What you saw?"

他说：「你看到了什么？」

I said, "Forget it. How many years old I am?"

我说：「别提了。我今年多大了？」

He said, "You are thirty seven."

他说：「你三十七。」

I said, "All the thirty seven years passed through me like a flash. I still remember every little action was given to me, shown to me, and catered for and I can tell you I have done many wrongs and I did see them, too."

我说：「这三十七年像一道闪电一样从我身上穿过。我至今还记得，每一个小小的行为都被摆在我面前，给我看，被一一照料到，我可以告诉你，我做过很多错事，我也确实看见了它们。」

You see your entire life complete clean. There is nothing which you don't see. All what you have done, you are reminded at that time. If you owe somebody money. One day I was meditating and I told Premka. I say, "After meditation remind me what I wanted to talk to you."

你会看到自己整个一生，清清楚楚。没有什么是你看不到的。你所做过的一切，在那一刻都会被提醒起来。要是你欠了谁的钱。有一天我在冥想，我跟Premka说。我说：「冥想完了提醒我，我要跟你谈的事。」

And next day (?) "I forget you know. You told me yesterday."

第二天（？）「我忘了，你知道。你昨天跟我说过。」

I say, "Yes. Made a ten dollar international money order and write down this letter and send it to doctor. When I was in Amritsar, he gave me certain medicine for which government was to pay. Now, there is some block and this man is cursing me. So send him this money."

我说：「对。开一张十美元的国际汇票，把这封信写下来，寄给那位医生。我在阿姆利则的时候，他给了我一些药，那药本该由政府付钱。现在中间卡住了，这人在骂我。把这钱寄给他。」

We got the acknowledgement after fifteen days and he didn't get the government money. Government was supposed to pay for all the medicine, he didn't get it at all. So, he was feeling that God knows where I am and I have cheated him and blah, blah, blah. And I was meditating and I saw that man asking for money and I send him ten dollars. It is much more than he wanted from me and I wrote him a letter. I said, "Rest of the money is for your convenience because you have been put to inconvenience and I am now in Los Angeles, I cannot pay you."

我们十五天后才收到确认，他没拿到政府的钱。政府本该支付所有药费，他一分都没拿到。所以，他觉得，天知道我在哪儿，我骗了他，等等等等。我冥想时，看到那个人在讨钱，我就给他寄了十美元。这比他向我要的多得多，我还给他写了封信。我说：「剩下的钱是给你图个方便，因为让你受了麻烦，我现在在洛杉矶，没法付给你。」

You see, sometime your conscience also tells you to do or to clear out yourself and all that and you do not do it intentionally. That is a cause which is your become and hang up and you pay for that thing ten times.

你看，有时候你的良知也会告诉你去做什么，或者去清理自己之类的，而你却故意不做。那就是一个因，成了你的业，卡在那里，你要为那件事付出十倍的代价。

Student: (---).

学生：（——）。

YB: Well, if he releases you from the bond it is fine. If you owe me ten thousand dollars and tomorrow I say, "Okay, we quit." But not that you cannot pay me. If some says, "okay we quit," then you quit. These are mental vibrations. Saying this, "Well, you cannot pay me, therefore I..." You know, this is conditional. This does not quench you. Then you become donkey, come in their house, load their luggage. Then you pay.

YB：嗯，如果他解除你的束缚，那没问题。如果你欠我一万美元，明天我说：「行，我们算了。」但不是说你不能还我。如果有人说：「行，我们算了，」那就算清了。这些都是心智的振动。说这种话：「嗯，你还不起我，所以我……」你知道，这是有条件的。这不能让你解脱。然后你就变成驴，进他们家门，驮他们的行李。然后你再还。

Remember one thing; you have to pay now or later on. Let the people who steal things and take away things sometime I laugh what for they do it. Because you have to pay. Didn't I tell you all but if those who cannot pay please bring a flower as an offering? Why? So that you may not incur on you. You have to pay me. When you come to learn here, you have to pay. This is a law. This is not my father's law that because I want money that is why I am persuading you to pay. That is not right. 'Ithragashtey, Tathargashtey,' because you come here to learn you have to pay. Because you have to pay, so if you cannot pay in a medium moneywise, you understand, you bring any offering and what is there a flower is. You follow the whole aspect of this whole teaching?

记住一件事：你现在得还，或者以后得还。让那些偷东西、拿走东西的人去吧，有时我笑他们图什么。因为你必须还。我不是跟你们所有人说过吗，那些还不起的人，请带一朵花来作供品？为什么？这样你就不会欠在自己身上。你必须还我。你来这里学习，你就必须付出。这是法则。这不是我父亲的法则，不是因为我想要钱，所以才劝你们付钱。那不对。「Ithragashtey, Tathargashtey，」因为你来这里学习，你就必须付出。因为你必须付出，所以如果你没法用钱这种媒介付出，你明白，你就带任何供品来，一朵花又算什么呢。你跟上这整套教导的整个面向了吗？

It is not that we are training people that they must pay or we are compelling them that they should pay. That is not the aspect at all. Aspect is you should not come empty hand to a teacher because this type of yoga is not supposed to be taught without you come without an offering. This is the opening sentence. How can I go against the Shastra, which I am teaching myself? And you are a very well read man, you understand what it means. That is why we declare to everybody that when you come you just bring one flower. That doesn't cost anybody. You can just pluck somewhere, or a cent, or a penny but you must pay. You understand what it means? That's all.

并不是我们在训练人们必须付费，也不是我们在强迫他们付费。那根本不是这个面向。面向是：你不该空着手来见一位老师，因为这种瑜伽本来就不该在你没有带供养的情况下来学。这是开篇的话。我怎么能违背我自己在教的《圣典》？你是个读过很多书的人，你明白它是什么意思。所以我们向所有人宣布：你来的时候，只要带一朵花。这不花任何人一分钱。你随便在哪里摘一朵，或者一分钱、一便士，但你必须供养。你明白它是什么意思吗？就这些。

学生：（---）。

YB: You mean to say one who comes to teach a yoga class will pickpocket somebody's pocket? Then he incurs two Karmas, incurs two Karmas.

YB：你的意思是说，一个来教瑜伽课的人会去掏别人的口袋？那他就造下两个业力，造下两个业力。

Student: (---)

学生：（---）

YB: No, no love. This is a fact that I am going to tell you a Shastra.

YB：不，不，亲爱的。这是事实，我要告诉你一部《圣典》。

'Guru Devey Namo Bhaguthi, Namo Devey Sathya.'

「Guru Devey Namo Bhaguthi, Namo Devey Sathya.」

You shall never get and accomplish a truth from a Guru without giving him a offering first. That is the basic.

你若不先给古茹一份供养，就永远无法从古茹那里得到并成就一个真理。这是根本。

Student: (----).

学生：（----）。

YB: His forefather Krishna, forefather had to accept. I don't accept offering. What for I need an offering, tell me. By the way I can give one private class. I can get lot of money than all these classes I am running. Now, I, I individualize my way of living here.

YB：他的先祖 Krishna，先祖必须接受。我不接受供养。告诉我，我要供养干什么。顺便说一句，我可以开一堂私教课。我能挣到的钱比我现在开的这些课加起来还多。现在，我，我在这里的生活方式是我自己定的。

Fifteen classes do not give us sometime the amount of money which we get sometime from two private classes. Can you believe it? In East-West cultural center...

15 堂课有时候给我们的钱，还不如我们有时候从 2 堂私教课里挣到的多。你信吗？在东西方文化中心……

… you understand? Mantras are five, six, ten, twenty, thirty mantras, mantras are not million mantras, everybody can have his own mantra, what is this? There is no such thing to have personal mantra. Om Namo Shivaya Namo, Namo Shivaya Namo Namo is one Mantra, all those who worship Shivji have to give this Mantra. Hare Ram Ram Ram Ram Hare Hare, this is one those who worship Ramchandra. Namo Narayanaya Namo, Namo Narayanaya, Namo, Namo. This is Narayan's Mantra. 'Oh merciful God, help me.' This is how the Christian worship Him. Those who worship Jesus O Lord, O son of father,' whatever it is. I mean any one thing, which can consolidate your attention and tune you in is a mantra. But the difficulty with us is that we do not have any mantra. We worship absolute. Let us, I tell you now. Tomorrow you can be questioned and you may be goofing there. We worship the absolute. There is a difference. We are on a direct flight. You see, there is a difference. Don't condemn them. They are not wrong and don't you feel you are superior. It is the same game. We are starting from a New York. They are going to land at Chicago and from Chicago they will be given another aircraft and come to Los Angeles. And we are on a direct flight. That's all. This is the difference. We worship the absolute because we create Him. They worship God with powers. Shivji is a power, death. Brahma, Vishnu, Mahesh.

Brahma is the creator – power of the God. Vishnu, is what who provides you everything is the power of God. Mahesh is the Shivji – the death power of the God. These are the three powers of the God. Then they have got their wives. Lakshmi – Money, media and Saraswathi, the awareness, you know, and the third one is the Bhagavathi – the purity. You call her Kundalini, it is one and the same name. Don't forget that. So we have married God to something. You see, Ying must have a Yang. Do you understand? Every formula when you analyze will come to one little truth that there is one cause for every cause and those who meditate on that cause shall reach that cause. You shall be what you wish most.

Brahma 是创造者——神的力量。Vishnu，是那个为你提供一切的力量，是神的力量。Mahesh 是 Shivji——神的死亡力量。这是神的三种力量。然后他们有了各自的妻子。Lakshmi——金钱、媒体，还有 Saraswathi，觉知，你知道的，第三个是 Bhagavathi——纯净。你叫她 Kundalini，这是同一个名字。别忘了这一点。所以我们已经把神嫁给了什么东西。你看，阴必须有阳。你明白吗？每一个公式，当你分析时，都会归结到一个小小的真理：每一个因都有一个因，那些冥想那个因的人将到达那个因。你将成为你最渴望成为的。

Some people enjoy a countryside, they want to drive in a car. They start from New York on a road, they see all the places on the way and blah, blah, blah and come in Los Angeles. It takes them two years. That doesn't mean they are wrong. It is wrong way of teaching and the wrong way of learning to say they are wrong. They are very right because they are great. They enjoy, they see everything. I flew from here to Santa Fe in aircraft. I sat down here. I never see where is Great Canyon, what, what never. But when I came by car I see Great Canyon, I will see this place, that place. They showed me all on the way but we are tired in a way we don't have a long life.

有些人喜欢乡野，他们想开车去。他们从纽约上路，一路看遍沿途所有地方，等等等等，然后到洛杉矶。这要花他们两年。这不代表他们错了。说他们错，那是错误的教学方式，也是错误的学习方式。他们非常对，因为他们很了不起。他们享受，他们看遍一切。我坐飞机从这里到圣塔菲。我坐在这里。我从没看见大峡谷在哪里，什么，什么，从没看见。但当我开车来，我就看见大峡谷，我会看见这个地方、那个地方。他们一路上指给我看所有地方，但我们在某种意义上累了，我们没有很长的寿命。

We can't meditate seven thousand year ago and then thirty thousand year we can sit in Nirvan prana and blah, blah, blah. Our age is seventy-five years and we want to be out now, right now.
