And always woman is given more responsibility, because she matures earlier than man. She becomes more responsible and caring for a man and can handle better. Because when she comes she surrenders herself, she changes her name, she give in, she does everything for the man and when she doesn’t get security from man and that’s where her anger comes in and she has a capacity both ways if she is sixty times better and powerful than man in positive way and then she can be sixteen times worst also to destroy him. So balance is very important how they are going to handle the woman and once woman becomes a disaster she can ruin the man and the family at that time she doesn’t care for the children for anything.

And she is the worst of revengeful person when she is in the sixteen times in the negative side. So it's very important to give priorities where they are needed what time they are needed. So you should have a analytical mind working where to filter and when to filter the situations. And it's very important, everything is important because to me everything is, so important each area I talk about, it seems like it's so important you cannot ignore one and then handle the other one.

They all are so to be spiritual and then have faith in Guru and not have ego that I am the perfect one, I did it. So then you forget that, sometime what happens is we get so involved in our business, we forget our Sadhana, we say oh! I slept late at night because I was working, so Sadhana is gone. Bodies are gone.

它们全都那么重要，要灵性，要对古茹（Guru）有信仰，不要有小我，觉得「我是最完美的，是我做到的」。那样你就忘了。有时候会发生的是，我们太投入自己的生意，忘了自己的萨达那（Sadhana），我们说：哦！我昨晚睡晚了，因为我在工作，所以萨达那没了。身体也垮了。

get so involved in our business, we forget our Sadhana, we say oh! I slept late at night because I was working, so Sadhana is gone. Bodies are gone.

And you get up and go to work and then come home, so you get into such a rot, so that your whole way of life is changed and after a little while you can enjoy that rot, but then this whole life style gets into mess and then Guru’s hand is very strong, once it reaches, you cannot escape from that. Then Guru says okay I gave you success and you forgot me. And here I am, so then we start doing our forty day Sadhana, forty days seva, forty days this thing and that thing, so it's a very …the best thing is that not to wait for forty days, it’s better to do it everyday.

So that you can enjoy it the same time what you are doing and I will tell you the beautiful story when we start saying it’s my effort, I am perfect one, then when our ego starts and that time we lose the grace of God and then Guru says, “Okay if I give you all best thing and you have forgotten me.”

And he said, “I only want whatever I have achieved from my meditation, I want a reward of that.”

And he asked him, “Think again, what actually you want”

神问他：「再想想，你到底想要什么？」

He said, “Yes I have meditated for hundred years, I have sat on one place, I want a reward for that.”

And he asked him third time, and he repeated the same answer. And he said, “So you don’t want… you haven’t hurt anybody, you haven’t done anything wrong for hundred years, so you want a reward of just for that karma you have meditated.”

神第三次问他，他还是重复同样的回答。神说：「所以你不想……你100年来没有伤害过任何人，没有做过任何错事，所以你只想要那份你冥想的业力的奖赏。」

And he said, “Yes.” And that time the stone where he was sitting, he used it as a seat and that stone became as a person and the stone said that, “First you have to settle my account how could you take your reward, you sat hundred years on me, now it's my turn, let me sit under you, you become a stone, let me sit hundred years on you and then we settle the account with God.”

他说：「是的。」就在那时，他坐着的那块石头，他把它当座位用，那块石头变成了一个人，石头说：「你得先结清我的账，你怎么能拿走你的奖赏？你在我上面坐了100年，现在轮到我了，让我坐在你下面，你变成石头，让我在你上面坐100年，然后我们再跟神结账。」

And he said, he was so surprised and he realized that was his ego he was saying because he did meditation, but whereas he should have said, “It was all your blessings, I want your blessings. What do you think better for me, maybe I cannot think.” So then he bowed before the God and he said, “I was in such a ego, forgive me”

And then said, “How could you say that you haven’t done anything wrong, even in your thought and action you may not do physically something we maybe hurting people’s feelings or in our thinking we maybe doing something wrong,”

So then we say that we have done it or I am the one who achieved the success that’s where we get into ego and then Guru leaves you behind to handle your own situations and when we say, it is all your blessings, and we never forget our Sadhana or everything for success then we can enjoy that success. And then again it's on the wife how spiritual she is and how she can change her family and some woman say that I get up every morning for Sadhana, but my husband doesn’t get up, I don’t know how to deal with it.

But important thing is, if she is doing this real Sadhana and then her influence must be there, but they mess up when they negate their husband and they start putting her ego, I am the one who is doing it, you are not doing it, so they lose their whole concept of saying it. Their intentions are good, but their way of saying is not right. So they ruin the... if husband wants to do it then he says, he becomes more irritated and he doesn’t do it. But it's like a sandalwood trees, even there is one regular, just tree is there and just with the smell of that or with the touch of the sandalwood the whole jungle becomes the sandalwood tree jungles.

但重要的是，如果她做的是真正的萨达那，那么她的影响一定会在，但她们搞砸了，因为她们否定自己的丈夫，开始把自己的小我放进去——是我在做，你没在做——于是她们失去了说这句话的整个本意。她们的意图是好的，但她们说话的方式不对。所以她们毁了……如果丈夫想做，他反而变得更烦躁，就不做了。但这就像檀香树，哪怕只有一棵普通的树在那里，仅仅凭着那棵檀香的气味，或者凭着檀香的触碰，整片丛林都会变成檀香树的丛林。

Even the other tree doesn’t even remain normal trees. So if wife is that spiritual there is no way she cannot influence her husband. But she has to keep up with positive mind, not with negative feelings. And then they should have a quality to be relaxed and then decide. Instead of deciding when they are in angry mood. And something wife has to pretend that she is okay even though she is angry and sometime husband is having a business meeting and he comes in with his staff or he has his business people with him and at time she brings out all her anger. But that time if she shows that everything is okay and I am fine and she handles the situation and that way she gets the reward from husband.

就连另一棵树也不会再是普通的树。所以，如果妻子有那么灵性，她不可能不影响她的丈夫。但她必须保持正向念头，而不是带着负面情绪。然后他们应该有放松下来的品质，再去决定。而不是在生气的时候做决定。有时候妻子必须假装自己没事，哪怕她很生气；有时候丈夫正在开商务会议，他带着员工或生意伙伴进来，而这时她把所有的怒气都发作出来。但那种时候，如果她表现出一切都好、我没事，她把局面处理好，这样她就能从丈夫那里得到回报。

And then the other thing that woman has to have is a strong big heart and forgiving qualities. Because she has a capacity to live through with grace and she can cope with everything. But when she doesn’t have a big heart and she is so jealous of everything and then success is never going to come in that family.

And the other area is sexuality area, that’s also important for a man and woman to be satisfied in that area to have a successful married life. And when they are not satisfied they will make excuses to fight. And when couple deal with tolerance and patience and have their commitment and then they can handle any problem and achieve success. And then they don’t discuss or criticize each other’s weaknesses. And the other thing is to divide duties. So they should have divided duties that what she has to do or the different roles what he has to handle and they at that way they can handle in a better way and they can cope with every situation and then get each others help.

And you know Guru Amar Das, his wife was Matha kivi and she knew that he was a Guru and she took over the food area, whoever, entered in that area she used to serve Lungar and she never complained and then that was the time when Lungar started in Sikh religion. Because they divided duties. She never knew or complained okay what is happening with you, I never get to sit with you, but she knew with the devotion that this is my husband’s mission I have to do it. And now her name comes in Guru Granth Sahib. There are not that many ladies their name come in Guru Granth Sahib, but she is recognized as Matha Kivi even in the Guru Granth Sahib.

And the main thing is that woman needs attention and demonstration of love and whereas man needs that she should boost his ego and it's very important for him to get his ego boosted by wife, so he feels that he is a strong man and he is a complete man as a whole, so that he can handle the outside world. But on the other hand the man should be generous and he should have values and his generosity starts from home and if… and then outside world, but his priority should be his family.

而关键在于，女人需要关注，需要爱的表达；男人呢，需要她给他鼓劲、把小我捧起来，让妻子把小我捧起来对他非常重要，这样他才觉得自己是个强壮的男人，是个完整无缺的男人，才能应付外面的世界。可另一方面，男人应该慷慨，应该有价值观，他的慷慨要从家里开始，然后……再到外面的世界，但他的第一优先应该是他的家庭。

I was doing research this month, last month in India for my destination and my destination is on a commitment and concept of marriage in India and in America the comparison. And it was interesting I have interviewed like fifty couples there. And then fifty one. Fifty I did there, their questionnaires and their main answer was their first priority is their family and then the career. They want to be successful, but they don’t want to ruin their family to get the material world or material things in their life, everybody wants to be rich, nobody wants to be poor in anyway, anywhere in any country.

这个月、上个月我在印度做研究，为我的目的地做研究，我的目的地是关于印度婚姻的承诺与理念，再跟美国做比较。挺有意思，我在那边采访了大概五十对夫妻。然后是五十一对。我在那边做了五十份，他们的问卷，他们主要的回答是，第一优先是家庭，然后才是事业。他们想成功，但不想为了得到物质世界或物质的东西就毁掉自己的家庭，人人都想有钱，没人想受穷，不管在哪个国家、哪个地方都一样。

But their main concept was that our first priority is that of home, we don’t want to mess up our home just for money sake, we can still live poor and have a happy married life than having a rich marriage and not having happy married family.

So I think that is the difference between India and America, we get so involved in our profession and in career we forget where family is or what family needs it and where their needs or and how they should be met and, so that was the difference and I think that’s very important areas to deal with that how committed you are towards your family and how much success you want in outside world and, if you don’t have a householder life successful, you are never going to enjoy your material world.

所以我认为这就是印度和美国之间的差别，我们太投入自己的职业和事业，忘了家在哪里、家人需要什么、他们的需求在哪里、又该如何满足，这就是差别，我认为这是非常重要的领域，要处理好你对家庭有多投入、你想在外面的世界获得多少成功，如果你的居士生活不成功，你永远无法享受你的物质世界。

and how much success you want in outside world and, if you don’t have a householder life successful, you are never going to enjoy your material world.

And when man starts of his generosity and kindness at home and then he can be kind to his staff, he can be generous to his staff and he can be concerned and caring and that’s what even staff wants it that everybody… if you have a twenty people staff everybody, wants to feel that person is needed or that person has some value or some input in the business, so it's very important for them to feel that they are needed whether, they are staff whether they are in the family or they are in the business world or children and once that need of appreciation is met and that need for needing it and then everything becomes very smooth and then balance is achieved.

And then it's also important for a man and it's a very important thing that man should not cheat his wife and he should be honest and he should not use his wife just okay, because he needs it today and then use her and the next day ignore her and then she will let him use once or twice and third time she will tell him, okay, here I am, and then their whole balance and creative power and all positive mind goes away and that’s very important for a husband to be honest and sincere and committed to his wife and children, he may be busy she doesn’t mind, but she wants that he is honest and sincere for his family.

So once their needs are met and that’s all woman wants and that’s where you create the balance in the family. And just like in outside business world what we need is a qualities of positive thinking and motivations and objective planning, constructive ideas, development, achievement and short term goals and long term goals same way all those things are needed, but man should have a quality to have a analytical mind to know where and why is the problem and instead of saying who did it or where is the problem he should know why is the problem so once you deal with that why there is a problem and then he will know how to solve it.

But what happens with couples is when problems come they start fighting for that and they forget why the problem came in and why started it, once we deal with the problem and where is the point and that way we can handle the situations.

And the other thing is in business world you should never show your weaknesses to your staff or to your subordinates and then it's important also not to have intimate relationship with the staff. Once you have intimate relationship with the staff you lose respect and then your production goes down the drift. Because once you are intimate then they know they can negotiate and they can wrangle and do all those things and also it's important to have a alternative staff or somebody available, if somebody goes out and say okay I don’t want to work for you or doesn’t work right, so the person knows that somebody is available it's not that person is indispensable.
