Like and actually what do we mean by it. There is a very, very strong force against one thing why should we have churches, temples, why rituals and why ceremonies ands why and why and there is a long list of why and there is nobody to explain. Now I tell you. The basic concept of a man is that right from the beginning to this day man has tried to identity himself with a God. There is a one little cavity between man and a God and to overcome that cavity man has always tried to associate himself with God. To a realization man has reached a point where he wants to glorify God more than himself.

All this why’s can be answered in one way. Whatever we may try through ages and through our all methods, man of God however awful he maybe will end up always in a better glory than an ordinary man. And there is no way out. The only painful tragedy about the whole situation is, after a little while the men who sit in those temples, in those churches, in those organizations they are men of low character, bad habits and they do not project that standard and that gives a striking negativity to the people who have got faith in those places.

If this care is taken always and always that such places, churches, temple or places of preaching and teaching are only assigned to those people who are practical, very truthful, and sound in character and habits and they are people of higher nature and caliber you will all be wonderstruck to note there is no other entertainment a man requires. But unfortunately most of the people who are doctor of Divinity are doctor of Divinity as far as the certificate is concerned but they are not doctor of Divinity as far as their practical life is concerned.

Similarly, the people who teach these yoga or take all those people who teach hatha yoga or any type of yoga, if any person who is not spiritual or he is not a aware person or he cannot project in another person the light or the ray of comfort or soothing effect on the other person, whatever he maybe a great master, he is a useless person ultimately. If anybody comes to me is he going to come see whether I have got a long beard or a short beard? What is the idea about it?

What is a special thing between the two individuals which brings one person to another person that is the other person is more together, he is more single unit and he has more one pointed ness of the mind than the other person and the other person can't project positive vibrations. The very concept of God is that God is a vibration, if you live to this concept you will end up as a God. I am willing to challenge the statement of mine to anybody who wants to practice it. Your vibration is all what you are. If you are a rich man and powerful man what to me? And if you are a poor man and very weak man what to me? You are related to me as your vibrations are related to me. That is you and me. Similarly that is God in me. Nothing matters, don’t be foolish, don’t waste time, don’t waste energy, don’t run into complicated situations in understanding God and don’t waste time, don’t read lot many books. Try to understand one basic line, one basic word, God is a vibration.

Concentrate on vibrations, try to cause vibration, try to affect other people with vibrations, be practical in vibrations and moment you start practicing you will become perfect, when you are perfect you can change the destiny of anybody.

You know there is a difference in my teaching and teaching of the saints and sages. There is a difference and I am a revolutionary rebellious person. I am a very, very revolutionary and very, very rebellious person and they all are going to join hands to crucify me and I’ll crucify them all before I can be crucified. That is my vow, because I do not understand why a saint and sage who lives at the money of a person who is a worldly person should condemn a worldly person. That is my point of revolt.

I say you fellow, you go to the house of a person who has a wife and six children, who goes to the office and work whole day, (?) come in the evening with money and you get money from him and then you condemn him, ‘oh these worldly people are nuisance they are all fools bah-bah-bah,’ all that drama you know. That is a point of deviation and I am not willing to compromise with them on this point. And when they say give up everything, give up, devote to holy mother, to Holy Father, nonsense what Holy Father is going to give you in return?
我说，你这家伙，你跑到一个有妻子、有六个孩子的人家里去，那人整天去办公室上班，晚上带着钱回来，你从他那里拿到钱，然后你谴责他，「哦，这些世俗之人真讨厌，都是些傻瓜，叭啦叭啦」，你知道，全是那一套戏。这就是偏离的要点，在这一点上我不愿跟他们妥协。而当他们说放下一切、放下吧、奉献给圣母、奉献给圣父，胡说，圣父会回报你什么？

I told everywhere, where I left my ashram to anybody do not accept that money which you don’t think you deserve for your giving them the knowledge. Be a businessman, sell your knowledge and get in return something and use that money. Even now, if somebody says this is a money for you for charity. I say oh this account. This is money for that reason okay, in that account. Why should I carry unnecessary weight of karmas, God knows.

Somebody met me here, he said, “Well, yogi, I have got this much money. And you kindly accept that.”

I said, “No, 3HO is not so dirty. Tomorrow there will be an enquiry they may ask you from where you got it, you cannot explain to me what you are going to explain to those people? And we may end up in trouble.”

We believe in hard earned money. Yeah. Go to Claremont College, teach there. Go fifty mile, come fifty mile and end up with ten dollars. Sure. It’s worthwhile. Work, exert, put in yourself all your vibrations, all what you have and then earn and see how sweet that money is. The whole thing on which the whole thing goofed up (?) in a very simple word was, give up, give everything to God. God is a storehouse?

Yesterday I was coming back from Claremont College and somebody was driving me and she told me a beautiful story. I was telling that Shri Aurbindo really did a very beautiful job. Shri Aurbindo really did a very beautiful job and Pondicherry ashram is one of the best ashrams, one of the best ashrams in India. And she told me, she said, “Yes yogi, I had also that feeling in the beginning. But now I have got a hatred.”

She said, “I met a person here, he said give it everything to mother, holy mother, holy mother and we ended up with a situation and later on one day I asked him I gave you and you didn’t sent to mother, you have kept all that with you. And that struck bad at the root of my faith and I turned absolutely negative.”

You see anybody who teaches this thing ‘give up your husband, give up your house, give up your children, give up your worldly life,’ he is no good, don’t listen to him. He is a useless fellow. Any person who does not want to bring happiness to a man of the world is a no teacher, he is just a crank. You understand what crank means? Who has a loose something in his brain and don’t listen to any such teachers. This is the first day I am using to you a one word don’t listen to such a person. This world has been given to you to be healthy, happy and holy, to live, get married, have children, and still find God. God only needs those people who are unmarried?
你看，任何人教你这一套——放下你的丈夫，放下你的房子，放下你的孩子，放下你的世俗生活——他就不行，别听他的。他是个没用的家伙。任何不想给世俗之人带来快乐的人，都不是老师，他只是个怪人。你懂怪人是什么意思吗？脑子里有根弦松了，别听这样的老师。这是我第一天对你们用一个词：别听这样的人。这个世界是给你的，让你健康、快乐、神圣，让你活着、结婚、生孩子，同时还能找到神。神只需要那些没结婚的人吗？

But these kind of teachings are going on here, I don’t understand. Give up everything, give up everything, then go where? In the Pacific Ocean? What you have to give up, whom to give up, who is there to receive? I am not willing to give a dime to anybody, but other man should be worthy of receiving that dime from me. Why to give up anybody anything? Why not to have very peaceful, majestic, aristocratic way of living, comfortable way of living, and then not forgetting God. Idea is not to forget who has given you not to give up anything. What is the solution?
但这里却在流传这种教导，我不明白。放弃一切，放弃一切，然后去哪儿？去太平洋里？你要放弃什么，放弃谁，又有谁来接收？我一分钱都不愿意给任何人，但别人得配得上从我这里拿到那一分钱。为什么要放弃任何人任何东西？为什么不过一种非常平静、庄严、高贵的生活方式，舒适的生活方式，然后还不忘记神。关键不是忘记是谁给了你，而不是放弃任何东西。解决办法是什么？

And I am very perfect on this point today because I have to tell you this thing, mostly you people have read all books and you all have worked with one teacher or another. And this foolishness is sticking in everybody’s brain. Give up, give up, what do you mean by give up? Earn more, have more, create more so that you maybe in a position to share something. Don’t be a free loader. Work with your two hands, apply your whole brain, put your entire consciousness into something and create something marvelous, beautiful. Money is a media, it is not worth hating. And create a regular thoughtful way of living and then help those who can be lifted up.

If there is no money in my house and I have got nothing to feed anybody and two people walk in my house at dead of night, they are hungry, what is the use of me being there as a house man if I cannot provide them food.

And there is no teaching which teaches you abnormality. Anybody among you who has got an abnormal way of teaching or learning he has to find a different teacher, I am not going to be a party to any such teaching and to any such student who has got this kind of teaching give up everything, well hell with you. Don’t give up anything at all. But don’t be egoistic, don’t be proud of that you have this and this, this. Have what you have and give what you possibly can spare. Little bit of your own hard money, it is not all you must give me, forget about me, I can earn my own living, you don’t care about me, I don’t care about you. But little bit way of charity should be your mode of life.
没有任何教导会教你变得不正常。你们当中谁要是用不正常的方式教或学，他就得另找一位老师，我不会参与任何这样的教导，也不会参与任何这样的学生——谁要是搞这种教法，什么都放下吧，那随你便。什么都别放下。但也别自大，别因为你有这个那个就骄傲。你有什么就有什么，能省下多少就给多少。拿出一点你自己辛苦挣来的钱，不是非得把一切都给我，别管我，我自己能谋生，你不用管我，我也不管你。但行一点布施，应当成为你生活的方式。

Don’t go into a restaurant, if there is a blind man selling pencil at the gate, give him one penny, it will take away disease from your body. You will never suffer with any digestive trouble. Don’t go to a movie if there is some blind man asking in the name of God. When somebody ask you in the name of God give them, if not everything little bit. He has called you in the name of the Creator. That is the test. There you put your hand with your honey, (?) later on to show off charity, you write a million dollar check note just to such and such firm (?) shame on you, shame on your charity, shame on your entire way of life. You are buying God?
别进餐馆，如果门口有个盲人在卖铅笔，给他一分钱，它会带走你身上的病。你永远不会犯消化方面的毛病。别去看电影，如果有个盲人以神的名义乞讨。有人以神的名义向你开口，就给他，就算不是全部，也给一点。他是以造物主的名义在呼唤你。这就是考验。你在那里伸手，带着你的蜜糖，（？）过后为了炫耀布施，你写一张百万美元的支票，只给某某公司（？）——你可耻，你的布施可耻，你整个生活方式都可耻。你是在买神吗？

Give where you are supposed to give. Give where you must give. Give, the life in this world is a comparative life. Give where you should, give where you don’t get back so that it is your credit. Anybody who hasn’t got a credit will he be a man of any worth? Build credit, don’t bargain with God. You are poor, you are weak, you are just nothing. Man you don’t have your breath in your control what type of bargain you want to do with him. I want to see one person who say I breathe. I am willing to accept him as my Guru.
该给的地方就给。必须给的地方就给。给吧，这个世界上的生活是一种比较性的生活。该给的地方就给，给到你不求回报的地方，那才算你的功德。一个没有功德的人，还能有什么价值？积功德，别跟神讨价还价。你贫穷，你软弱，你什么都不是。人啊，你连自己的呼吸都控制不了，你还想跟他做什么样的交易。我想看到一个说「我在呼吸」的人。我愿意接受他做我的古茹。

And all those people who are married, who have got houses, who have got children, who have got lives, who have got wives must first be true to their worldly duty if they want to find any iota of God. God is not neglecting the children, God you are not going to have to neglect your husband, God you are not going to find neglect your wife, that is not the way of God, that is escapism and that is just you are tired in the house because your wife has bugged you, you run away to movie and instead of running to movie you come to Yogi Bhajan, that is no nonsense. That is all wrong.
所有那些结了婚的人，有了房子的人，有了孩子的人，有了生活的人，有了妻子的人，如果想找到一丝一毫的神，就必须先忠于自己的世俗责任。神不会忽视孩子，神，你不必忽视你的丈夫，神，你不会发现要忽视你的妻子，那不是神的方式，那是逃避，那只是你在家里累了，因为你的妻子烦了你，你跑去看电影，而你不跑去看电影，却跑来找 Yogi Bhajan，那毫无道理。那全是错的。

Karma yoga teaches your karma should be perfect. My truth should be examined by my actions. That is karma yoga. My action should prove my truth. That is karm yoga and my truth should prove my God that is karm yoga, why to read that big book. Seventeen hundred and thirty-eight pages. What is the need? If these two sentences can explain the whole book what is the fun of nine volumes? Who has got the time? Why to go and spoil your eyes at night and put a lamp on and bah-bah-bah… There are two words to understand. My action should prove my truth, and my truth should prove my God, what is this in-between? Why you want to do it?

Sometime I enjoy, I listen to somebody for half an hour, bah-bah-bah-bah… later on I think do I remember that breath is not in the control of a man is it a fact? But I am not supposed to offend everybody. The very concept of life should be that whatever has come to you it has come by the cosmos, the Creator, that Creator who has created you. Glorify yourself to glorify Him. Self first. Live a life of self-respect, let your every action project self-respect, let your every deed, talk, contact, communication, any vibration should project self-respect. Must respect self if you want to respect God, don’t be fool. Don’t do hypocrisy with your Creator, He knows you better than I know you.

This power that says Sat Nam and cancer becomes okay and say Sat Nam and each thing gets all right and blind man becomes all right and all this, you all want power, but you do not know from where you get it. You get it from this. It is a call on a Creator. The Creator, the cause of every cause, and you have to go into it.

What a direct thing it is. If you can straighten out the mantra you can straighten out the God. What do you think God is? It is siddham, siddham means if there is any curl you make it like this. ‘All right, get up, you sit,’ as he is a soldier and I am a commander. Why? Mantram siddhyam. By perfection of the mantra you can perfectly capture God. And this is the first saying of the Veda. You can straighten out the mantra, you can straighten out the God also. Then God starts serving you, (?)

You see, you must understand, you are the instrument cause, the main cause is somewhere else. This little thing you can differentiate you will end up as a very happy man. You are never the main cause, you are always the instrument cause. And the foolishness is that we think we are the main cause and somebody is instrument cause. That’s all we think different. Just opposite. Yeah. I have seen the wisest people becoming fool on this point. Wisest, very saintly people. Don’t misunderstand. But it is very easy to practice and understand because I have talked.
你看，你必须明白，你是工具因，真正的因在别处。这点小事你能分辨清楚，你最终会成为一个非常快乐的人。你从来不是主因，你永远是工具因。愚蠢的是，我们以为自己是主因，别人是工具因。我们想的差别就在这儿。正好相反。是的。我见过最聪明的人在这点上变成傻瓜。最聪明的、非常圣洁的人。别误会。但这很容易练习和理解，因为我已经讲过了。

Don’t go into the teaching and books, they write beautiful books and they teach beautiful but when it comes to practically it is very difficult problem. Yeah. I have practiced it. Very, very great people who have got a following of million people and who are really saints. I have seen becoming fools on this issue. They feel sometime they are the cause.
别一头扎进教义和书本里，他们写出漂亮的书，教得也漂亮，但一到实际做的时候，就是非常难的问题。是的。我实践过。非常、非常伟大的人，有上百万追随者，是真正的圣人。我见过他们在这件事上变成傻瓜。他们有时觉得自己就是那个因。
I have a got a Guru I will not mention him. My own swamy one day I caught him. He said, “Well, is should be like that.”

You see. We always miscalculate one thing. We think we are the actors. And what about that father director who makes us dance. When we do not listen to his direction you know, what happens, our acting goes wrong. The audience say oh, oh shame, shame, get out, we don’t want to see it, because the drama is something different you are acting something different. You understand why this unhappiness is? This unhappiness is because the director give you direction, you do not act on that, you act your own drama and the audience doesn’t understand what you are talking about, they say shame, shaa, shaa, go, go, go, go. And then you go and take go-go whisky and sleep. No, you don’t understand.

There is a director of your every action, don’t forget director, people call Him God. Call Him anything, even call Him X what it matters? That something which breathes in you is God. You don’t breathe by yourself. If you breathe then don’t breathe why the hell you can't control it? And when you don’t breathe, why don’t they let you stay, why don’t they give you food, why don’t they worship you, why your wife wants ten people to throw you out in the grave? Why your children who always love and roll on your chest do not come near you? What happens then? Baby, only you don’t breathe that’s all.
你每一个行动都有一位导演，别忘了导演，人们称他为神。叫他什么都行，哪怕叫他 X 又有什么关系？在你里面呼吸的那个东西就是神。你不是靠自己呼吸的。如果你能呼吸，那你不呼吸的时候，为什么你就控制不了它？而当你不呼吸的时候，为什么他们不让你留下，为什么不给你食物，为什么不敬拜你，为什么你的妻子想叫十个人把你扔进坟墓？为什么那些总爱你、在你胸口打滚的孩子都不靠近你？那时发生了什么？宝贝，只是你不呼吸了，仅此而已。
Your eyes are the same, your moustaches are the same, your nose is the same, your hand is the same, you are still same, your body don’t smell, it is perfect, air is there, lungs are there, simply you stop breathing. And baby whole world becomes dark to you, this light in the eyes which you do like this (?) to the girls they don’t work. This doesn’t move. What happens? Only breath is not there.
